We make no secret of the fact that we’re big fans of the cloud here at AIS Solutions,as we’ve been providing services in the Cloud for many years, and long before it was the “in” thing to do.
That said, if there’s an opportunity for us to share the benefits of making the move with our readers, we’re going to take it, because the next few years are sure to be chock full of debates and discussions regarding the pros and cons.
As you might expect, we found such an opportunity over at one of our favourite business blogs, the Intuit Small Business Blog, with a recent article they published entitled Should I Move My Small Business to the Cloud?
The article, which is written by Michael Ansaldo, offers four reasons that business owners should strongly consider making the switch, from cost-effectiveness to convenience to easier collaboration. Here’s a snippet:
3. Your data is automatically backed up. Most small-business owners understand the importance of backing up essential data, and yet it’s probably still one of the first tasks to fall by the wayside in the day-to-day demands of running a company. Having your data automatically backed up through a cloud provider gives you one less daily worry, and it ensures that your files are protected in the event your business suffers a power outage (or another disaster) that compromises your primary system. Just make sure to thoroughly vet your provider’s redundancy systems and disaster-recovery options before signing up.
This is one of the main reasons that switching to the cloud benefits our clients: not only is their data automatically kept safe at the end of every workday, there are interim backups performed throughout the day as they log in and out of our system, ensuring full protection from any form of electronic failure.
Storing files online means running the risk of losing them in the event of something like a power failure, but not when they’re backed up and kept safe by default. Aside from the added security, it’s also a much more simple and organized way to keep track of your files – paper can become a big mess in no time.
